Reports from last weekend 5^th & 6th September

Saturday

North Devon 3rds played Bideford at Instow on a blustery day. Bideford batted 1st and scored 191 with the bowling star veteran Colin Payne leading from the front with 5 wickets. The 3rds chased hard but eventually fell 20 runs short. It was unfortunate and most unlike Bideford  that the behaviour of some of their players was not of their normal high standard. The committee of NDCC would like to take this opportunity to remind our players that behaviour and sportsmanship is the corner stone of our club.

Sunday

The 3rds were home for the 2nd day running this time against Victoria Park. The game VP batted first on warm sunny day and rattled along to to 205. Raymond Clarke was the pick of the bowlers. In response Dave Tribe carried North Devon's batting with an excellent 60. Unfortunately the inning subsided at 185.

Winter training will start after Christmas at St Michaels School, Tawstock.

I would like to thank all of you for a great Summer, your enthusiasm at this age is infectious

Well done to the U13's. We have had a tough summer and again this age group has been affected most by the weather.

Winter training will start in the new Year.

Thank you for making 2009 the most awesome and successful summer to date.

One or two of you might remember the 2009 summer started in November 2008. Practice, improvement, the want to succeed as individuals, team work are vital.  We need to work as group even harder so practice is targeted to start in November. Well Done

Winter Player Coaching Programme Youths & Seniors

Success within the club does not just happen!

Email Gwynne on your views on what  you would like to happen over the winter months

Do you want to be a cricket coach, upgrade your certificate?

Gwynne our Seniors coach has been asked by our committee to improve the coaching structure throughout the club. We are looking for volunteers who can help with the kids and at the same time are prepared to gain qualification and a Level 1 certificate. If you would like to help please click on Gwynne and let him know

If you already have a qualification and would like to advance to another level please also advise Gwynne

Mark needs help on Monday Nights to not only coach but also to Manage teams at the various age groups. We need people who can spare a little bit of time during the week to organise, take the register, deal with parents who want to buy kit, help run the bar on practice night. Just to be there in case.
